Reminder: The Omaha District Contest is now hosted at the South Campus of Metropolitan Community College. The address is 2909 Edward Babe Gomaz Avenue, Omaha, NE 68107.
The dates to be aware of for this contest season are:
Teacher Registration Opens: Monday, January 6, 2020
Student Registration Opens: Monday, January 6, 2020
All Registration Closes: Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:59pm Central
Registration Fees Due: Wednesday, February 12, 2020
Paper Submission and Website Lockout*: Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11:59 pm Central Time
Contest Date: Friday, March 6, 2020
Awards Ceremony (estimated time): 2:00-2:30 pm
*Paper submittals are online through the registration system. Websites will lock automatically through NHDWebCentral. Exhibits, performance and documentary categories will need to bring 3 printed copies of their process paper and annotated bibliography the day of the contest.
Scheduling for the day of the contest will be sent to teachers in advance. Exhibits will be given time in advance of the start of all judging for setup. The contest day is open to the public although not all category interviews are open to public viewing.
Contest Day Lunch: Subway lunch including sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a water are included in the registration fee. Select your sandwich type during registration! Anyone else wishing to purchase a Subway lunch is welcome to buy lunch at the Subway shop within our MCC South Omaha Campus.
